DAY 11: ANDERNOS-LES-BAINS - REST DAY
TUESDAY 9 JUNE
It was wonderful to wake up without the alarm knowing we had choosen a fabulous spot for our rest day.
The view from the tent was amazing
We spent the morning relaxing at the site
As the whole bay is tidal the view was forever changing
Although the sun was out it was still incredibly windy, and not as warm as I would've liked, so it wasn't very pleasant to sit outside the tent and we had to be careful when opening it that the wind didn't inflate it and blow it away. We collected some large stones and put them on the guy ropes and hoped our luggage was heavy enough to hold the tent down when we weren't in it.
We walked up to the market and ate a picnic on the beach by the tent
In the afternoon we strolled into town
Although it was modern it was a pretty little town
We had a relaxing afternoon drinking beer and eating ice cream
It felt like a normal holiday
We really enjoyed the day. It was such a wonderful place to stay and we felt so happy and relaxed we decided to stay another day as we were a day in hand as we hadn't had our rest day on the Ille d'Oleron. We also hoped the wind would stop and we would be able to spend a bit more time sitting outside rather than seeking shelter.
We were enjoying our stay here
